Production in Minnesota Is A Driver of Economic Activity...But We Need A Strong and Sustainable Tax Policy That Helps Us Compete With Other States Offering Incentives To Attract Projects
With the 2023 passage of the Film Tax Incentive program, we are now in a position to attract production to Minnesota. To be truly competitive and benefit from the economic development that results from content production, we need to strengthen our program by lowering the spending cap and increasing the tax credit percentage, to provide a robust and sustainable business environment for the production industry.
