To drive economic development, Minnesota needs a strong and sustainable program that is competitive with those in other states.
With the passage of the 2023 Film Tax Incentive program, Minnesota is now in a better position to attract production. However, to be truly competitive and maximize the resulting economic benefits, we need to strengthen the program. This can be achieved by lowering the spending minimum and increasing the tax credit percentage. Such changes would create a more robust and sustainable business environment for the film and television production industry.
