The Minnesota Film Alliance (MFA) is a state-wide non-profit trade association that represents Minnesota’s film, episodic & digital content production industry.

With the establishment of Explore Minnesota Film and the office finally operational, the Minnesota Film Alliance is restructuring to face the new landscape of film production in Minnesota.

Production in Minnesota Is A Driver of Economic Activity...But We Need A Strong and Sustainable Tax Policy That Helps Us Compete With Other States Offering Incentives To Attract Projects

 

With the 2023 passage of the Film Tax Incentive program, we are now in a position to convince production to return to Minnesota. But to be truly competitive and benefit from the economic development that results from content production, we need to strengthen our incentive by lowering the spending cap and increasing the crew credit from 25% to %35, to provide a robust and sustainable business environment for the production industry.
